What it's like
Affori lies to the north, between Bruzzano and Bovisa, and was an independent town until 1923. Its historic heart is the square around the church of San Giovanni Battista, with a few surviving courtyards and farmhouses from its farming past.
The quarter's landmark is Villa Litta, a 17th-century aristocratic residence with an English-style park open to the public: today the villa houses the library and District 9 offices, and the park is the area's main green space.
The rest of Affori is a residential quarter of post-war blocks, well served since the yellow M3 was extended to Comasina in 2011, with three stops serving the quarter and a suburban-rail station.

Where to eat and drink
Affori is residential with a neighbourhood offer: trattorias, pizzerias, pastry shops and bars around piazza Affori and via Astesani. The via Gaeta market runs on Wednesday mornings and is the quarter's main one.
Getting there
The yellow M3 crosses Affori with the Affori Centro, Affori FN and Comasina stops, the line's terminus. Below Affori FN is the Milano Affori railway station, on the suburban lines towards the centre and the Brianza. On the surface there is tram 4.
