One of the first regional parks in Italy, created in 1975 to turn the land of the former airfield and the Breda engineering works into green space, across Milan, Sesto, Bresso, Cinisello and Cormano. More than 600 hectares already built: not a garden but a real landscape of young woods, huge meadows and canals.
This is where northern Milan goes to actually run, cycle for hours, fly kites or lie down away from the traffic. There are restored farmhouses, a small theatre, teaching gardens and large dog runs. Reach it from the terminus of tram 4 or from metro line M5.
