What it's like
Greco lies to the north-east, between viale Zara, Bicocca and the boundary with Sesto San Giovanni.
It was an independent town until 1923, called in full Greco Milanese, with a small centre around the church of San Martino, still recognisable between via Rucellai and via Conti.
In the 20th century the village was hemmed in by the railway station, the workshops and the large Pirelli factory in Bicocca, which employed half the quarter. Deindustrialisation left disused sites, some redeveloped with the Bicocca campus to the east.
Today Greco is a quiet, slightly out-of-the-way residential quarter, with the suburban-rail station linking it to the centre in ten minutes and the Villaggio dei Giornalisti and Maggiolina close by.

Where to eat and drink
Greco has a neighbourhood food offer: trattorias and bars around the station and via Rucellai, plus newer places towards the Bicocca campus. The via Zuretti market runs on Wednesday mornings.
Getting there
Greco has the Milano Greco Pirelli station on the suburban rail, with frequent trains to Porta Garibaldi, the centre and the northern hinterland.
To the east the M5 stops of Bicocca and Marche are reachable on foot or by tram 7. Several buses link Greco to Zara and to Sesto San Giovanni.
