3 weekly neighbourhood markets in this area.

The neighbourhood

Niguarda is the large northern quarter around the hospital of the same name, one of the most important in Lombardy.

An independent municipality until 1923, it has kept a recognisable centre and a strong working-class, cooperative tradition. Ca' Granda and the Villaggio dei Giornalisti are residential districts from the 1930s.

Three markets a week

The area has three markets: San Miniato on Tuesday, Val di Ledro on Wednesday and Val Maira on Thursday.

They are solid neighbourhood markets, with food stalls and general traders, serving a very wide residential catchment.

Around

The Parco Nord, one of the largest metropolitan parks in Europe, begins right here and stretches towards Sesto and Bresso. The M5 (Ca' Granda, Bignami) and many trams connect Niguarda to the centre.
