Parco delle Basiliche

Officially Parco Giovanni Paolo II, but everyone calls it the park of the Basilicas because it links the Basilica of San Lorenzo, with its Roman columns, to that of Sant'Eustorgio. Four hectares in the Ticinese district, on the Vetra ground, where public executions were once held.
It is split in two by via Molino delle Armi: the San Lorenzo side has a rose garden and clipped hedges, the Sant'Eustorgio side is more open. A park to pass through more than to linger in, but it is the greenery of Milan's medieval core.
