Parco di Monte Stella

The "little mountain of San Siro": an artificial hill about fifty metres high, built after the war from the rubble of bombing and demolition, on an idea by the architect Piero Bottoni for the experimental QT8 district. It is named after Bottoni's wife, Stella.
Today it is a 37-hectare park with paths spiralling up to a viewpoint from which, on clear days, you can see the Alps. On the hillside is the Garden of the Righteous of the World, with a tree for each person remembered. It is popular for uphill running.
