Giardini di Villa Reale

The English-style garden laid out in 1790 behind the Villa Reale (or Villa Belgiojoso Bonaparte), today home to the Gallery of Modern Art. Two hectares of romantic taste: a winding pond, low hills, a small temple and mock ruins, among the first of their kind in the city.
Under an old rule that was never repealed, entry is reserved for children up to twelve and the adults with them, so it stays one of the quietest and best-kept corners of the centre. It faces the Giardini Montanelli across via Palestro.
