Parco Vittorio Formentano

Everyone calls it "parco Marinai", after Largo Marinai d'Italia. It stands where the Verziere wholesale fruit and vegetable market was until the 1960s, before the produce market moved to Calvairate. Almost five hectares at Porta Vittoria, with a pond, an islet and a historic kiosk.
The highlight is the rose garden, with hundreds of varieties at their best in May and June. It is named after Vittorio Formentano, the Milanese doctor who founded the AVIS blood donors' association in 1927. A much-loved neighbourhood park, with a dog area and playground.
