The neighbourhood
San Siro is two different things: the Meazza stadium and the flat-racing track on one side, and on the other one of Milan's largest social-housing districts, built between the 1930s and the 1950s. It is a lively, very multi-ethnic area with a strong neighbourhood identity.
The markets
The piazzale Selinunte / via Osoppo market runs on Thursday and Saturday and is the biggest in the area: groceries, clothing, household goods at low prices. Zamagna on Monday serves the side towards Trenno.
Around
A few minutes away are the Parco di Trenno and the Bosco in Città, two large green lungs to the west. The stadium is reached by the M5 (San Siro Stadio); on match days the whole area changes rhythm.
