The neighbourhood
Maciachini is the junction where the ring road meets the M3, on the site of the former Carlo Erba chemical works. Next to it is the Maggiolina, a quiet quarter known for its 1940s 'igloo houses' and for the nearby Villaggio dei Giornalisti.
The area has two markets: via Stresa on Friday and via Asmara on Saturday. Both are local neighbourhood markets, with food stalls and general traders.
