The neighbourhood

Baggio is an old farming village on the western edge, absorbed into the city in 1923 but still with a village feel around its square and old church.

It gave rise to the Milanese saying 'andà a Bagg a sonà l'òrghen'. Next to it are the Olmi and Valsesia social-housing quarters.

The area has two markets: via Pistoia on Friday and the Quartiere Olmi one on Saturday. Both are heavily used local markets. The large Parco delle Cave opens up not far away.
